"Equality for women has been off the political agenda for too long now with the result that women have been denied many of the protections needed to ensure they have equal opportunities in 21st century Australia.
No human rights agenda can be complete - or just - without the inclusion of a clear commitment to equality of women."
On 10 December, author and journalist, Dr Anne Summers will deliver the Human Rights Oration, the seventh in a series by the Victorian Equal Opportunity & Human Rights Commission to mark United Nations Human Rights Day.
As the Commission’s most significant annual event, the Oration provides a platform for the discussion of human rights as it applies to the everyday lives of citizens.
